OVERSEAS VIETNAMESE COMMUNITY'S ATTACHMENT FOR THE PARTY AND THE MOTHERLAND

THE OVERSEAS VIETNAMESE COMMUNITY IN CAMBODIA PLACE TRUST IN THE PARTY'S LEADERSHIP
In the first days of the new year 2025, together with compatriots at home and overseas Vietnamese around the world, the Vietnamese expats in Cambodia turned their hearts towards the Fatherland with much excitement about the national great achievements under the leadership of the glorious Party.
Sharing with reporters of Nhan Dan Newspaper, Sim Chy, President of the Khmer-Vietnamese Association in Cambodia (KVA), expressed his rejoice at strong national development during his recent visits to Vietnam.
“Notably, there has been significant progress in infrastructure, including transportation systems in Hanoi and major cities, along with beautiful projects serving the people's lives. Additionally, the country is implementing many important projects, such as the North-South high-speed railway and nuclear power plant projects."

According to the official with more than 40 years of community work experience, despite facing certain difficulties in life, the overseas Vietnamese people (OVs) in Cambodia always turn their hearts toward the motherland. During the national resistance wars, each OV in Cambodia wholeheartedly followed the Party and supported the revolutionary cause for national reunification.
“Thanks to the support of the Party, Uncle Ho, domestic agencies, organisations, and local authorities, the living conditions of overseas Vietnamese people in Cambodia have gradually improved, and education quality has been enhanced. Currently, the association has operated nine schools and 31 classrooms. Many students have returned to Vietnam to study at universities and higher levels. After graduating, they all have stable jobs, contributing to the development of the local economy and society,” the KVA Chairman shared.
Looking back at the memorable stages in his career, Sim Chy recalled that in 1986, the comprehensive Doi Moi process, which was initiated and led by the Party, gradually brought the country out of the socio-economic crisis. Trade with foreign countries, especially neighbouring countries, has shown progress, reflecting the potential strength of the Vietnamese economy.
“At that time, Vietnamese goods began to flow to Cambodia. Upon witnessing the convoys of trucks carrying high-quality goods produced in the homeland to join the Cambodian market, I was very moved. So were other OVs. As our homeland becomes stronger and gains a higher position, we are very excited."

According to statistics, in 2024, Vietnam's GDP growth reached 7.09%, far exceeding forecasts, making it a prominent country in the region in terms of economic development.
As a member of the Central Committee of the Vietnam Fatherland Front, Sim Chy shared that through the conferences he attended, he observed that Party and State leaders are very concerned that lives of ethnic Vietnamese people in Cambodia still face difficulties. This represents strong encouragement and motivation for the community to unite and progress.
As spring approaches in Vietnam, the community leader who was born and raised in the Tonle Sap region expressed confidence in victories across all fields under the Party’s leadership. This is the era of the Vietnamese nation’s rise. Under the glorious Party flag, Vietnamese people both at home and abroad are united in their efforts to take Vietnam to new heights.
VIETNAMESE INTELLECTUALS IN RUSSIA HIGHLY VALUE THE ROLE OF THE COMMUNIST PARTY OF VIETNAM
With the great achievements, Vietnam has been successfully renovating the country following the socialist orientation. The Vietnamese people and nation can be proud of the Communist Party of Vietnam — the leader and faithful servant of the people.
As the country welcomes the new spring and approaches the 95th founding anniversary of the Communist Party of Vietnam (February 3, 1930-2025), in an interview with Nhan Dan’s correspondent in Russia, Dr Nguyen Quoc Hung, a senior researcher at the Russian Academy of Sciences, highly praised the role of the Communist Party of Vietnam while affirming that, under the Communist Party of Vietnam’s leadership, Vietnam holds increasingly important prestige and position in the international arena.
According to Dr Nguyen Quoc Hung, from a country severely devastated by wars, sabotaged by hostile forces and economically embargoed, while suffering many losses from severe natural disasters, Vietnam has quickly recovered and promoted socio-economic development; the living standards of working people have continuously improved; politics have remained stable; public trust in the Party has been strengthened; and Vietnam’s international position has been elevated.

Highlighting the victories of the country’s renovation process, researcher Nguyen Quoc Hung affirmed that the Party’s leadership direction and Ho Chi Minh Thought are correct, wise, and always supported and trusted by people from all walks of life.
The Party possesses the necessary courage, intelligence, and capacity to lead the Vietnamese people to victory not only in the resistance war to gain and maintain power, liberate the nation, and unify the country, but also in building and developing the economy, building the country according to the goal: "rich people, strong country, democracy, fairness, civilisation."
Proudly looking back at the glorious past, expecting the country to enter a new stage of development, the Vietnamese researcher-intellectual in Russia recalled the recent enthusiastic statements of General Secretary To Lam, in which our Party determined that from the 14th Congress onwards, our country will officially enter a new era of development — the “Era of the Vietnamese Nation's Rise”.
Dr Nguyen Quoc Hung expressed his agreement with the view that each era appears objectively, requiring the nation and people to best meet the requirements of history to successfully implement the identified strategic goals. Under the correct leadership of the Party, the Vietnamese people have highly promoted patriotism and revolutionary heroism, successfully resolved historical requirements, and excellently fulfilled the set strategic goals.
1930 to 1945 was the era of fighting for independence and freedom and building socialism. The vital goal of Vietnam was to eliminate the oppressive and exploitative regime of colonialism and feudalism, become an independent nation, and move forward to build a new social regime.

During the 1945-1975 period, the Party led the nation to excellently fulfil strategic goals in the era of national unification and innovation and development. After nearly 50 years of national reunification and 40 years of implementing the 'Doi Moi' (Renewal) process, Vietnam has successfully fulfilled historical requirements, escaped the status of a poor, underdeveloped country, achieved great achievements of historical significance and created new positions and strengths, new foundations, potentials, positions, and international prestige.
The content of the era of national development is to make breakthroughs and accelerate in all areas of social life, bringing the country to new heights, with new quality, keeping pace with the times. The new era requires promoting to the highest level the driving forces for national development, especially the will, patriotism, creative aspirations and contributions of the people — the subjects playing a central role in the cause of creating a new era.
According to Nguyen Quoc Hung, it is necessary to transform the Party's policies, decisions, and will into awareness, into inspiration for action and creativity of every Vietnamese person.
That originates from consolidating and cultivating people’s trust in the Party. People’s trust is cultivated and multiplied from the correct perception of the nation’s development path guided by the Party; from the respect of the Party and the political system for the role of mastery and the true mastery of the people; and from the practical achievements of the country that bring practical and measurable benefits to every family and every Vietnamese person.

The country is preparing all conditions and mindsets to firmly step into the new era. This is very necessary to mobilise all resources, not only material resources but also intellectual resources and spiritual resources. The resources of our overseas Vietnamese are enormous, and we need to exploit them to the fullest. Activities connecting overseas Vietnamese with the country will be a catalyst, a strong push for the implementation of strategic tasks set out in Resolution No.57 of the Politburo on science and technology development, innovation, and digital transformation.
Researcher Nguyen Quoc Hung expressed his belief that under the leadership of the Party, with the strength of national unity, the spirit of struggle, labour and creativity, the aspiration to contribute of each Vietnamese person will definitely bring the country and the people firmly into a new era, an era of development and prosperity, an era of breakthrough and take-off of the Vietnamese people.
OVERSEAS VIETNAMESE IN THAILAND WITH THE PARTY AND THE HOMELAND SPRING
The birth of the Communist Party of Vietnam created a turning point, opening a new milestone in the history of Vietnam. After 95 years of formation and development, the Party has affirmed its irreplaceable role in the historical process of Vietnam. Today, under the leadership of the Party, the country has made many new strides and achieved many new achievements. Below are the perspectives of overseas Vietnamese in Thailand in the atmosphere of the whole country welcoming a joyful and happy spring and preparing to enter a new era.
During an interview with Nhan Dan Newspaper’s resident reporter in Thailand, Thai Manh Hung, member of the Executive Committee of the Thai Viet Association in Bangkok and surrounding areas and Head of the Association’s Information Department, affirmed that the opportunity and conditions are ripe for Vietnam to enter a new era — an era of the nation’s rise.
As a regular follower of news about Vietnam, Hung emphasised that from its early days, the Party gathered key leaders with the noble ideal of securing independence and freedom for the nation and leading the country toward socialism. Through countless sacrifices and hardships alongside soldiers and citizens, the Party led a miraculous resistance war, achieving glorious victories one after another, culminating in the Dien Bien Phu victory and later, the great Spring victory of 1975, which unified the country and brought the nation together as one.

With great enthusiasm, Thai Manh Hung told us that former General Secretary Nguyen Phu Trong, the current General Secretary To Lam, and the new leadership team are all determined to fight corruption and negativity decisively, ensuring political and economic stability. This is well understood and strongly supported by the Vietnamese community in Bangkok.
As a Vietnamese expatriate born in Thailand, Thai Manh Hung closely follows the situation in Vietnam and has complete confidence in the Party’s wise leadership, as well as in the diligence and creativity of the Vietnamese people, especially the younger generation. He believes that with continued reforms, the country is gradually progressing, stepping into a new era of development toward the goals of prosperity, strength, democracy, justice, and civilisation.
As the Lunar New Year approaches, we sought out some young Vietnamese expatriates in Thailand to better understand their lives in this country.
Attending the “Homeland Spring – Celebrating the Year of the Snake” programme in Bangkok, Pham Thanh Tuan, a Vietnamese expatriate living in Bangkok, excitedly shared with reporters that he brought his entire family to the event, including his father, who had just come from Vietnam for a visit. Tuan hoped that this occasion would allow his father to fully experience the festive atmosphere of the Lunar New Year, celebrating alongside the Vietnamese expatriate community in Thailand while staying connected to their homeland.

This marks the eighth consecutive year that Tuan has been unable to return to Vietnam for the Lunar New Year. Therefore, he felt deeply moved to be able to immerse himself in the homeland’s festive spirit, singing songs that praise the country, meeting and conversing with elderly expatriates to gain a deeper understanding and greater love for the homeland.
Tuan shared that after years of struggling to make a living in Thailand, he has recently managed to establish a small but stable livelihood. With his life becoming more settled, he hopes to contribute more to the Vietnamese expatriate community.
When asked about his thoughts as the entire nation unites in entering a new era — an era of national resurgence — Tuan affirmed: "Like my fellow countrymen in Vietnam, I and the Vietnamese community in Thailand always aspire for our homeland to undergo renewal and achieve remarkable progress." Pham Thanh Tuan said that in terms of Vietnam’s economy, several sectors have seen significant growth, reaching out to Asia and the world. Vietnam’s position and strength have been elevated, making this the perfect time for the country to confidently advance and step into a new era.
Meeting Le Anh Dung, another young overseas Vietnamese, we learned that he and his family were preparing for Tet shopping. He shared that the Vietnamese community in Thailand was especially joyful this year, as they continuously received news of Vietnam’s economic and social achievements. During these festive days, Dung expressed his desire to contribute more to the community and join fellow overseas Vietnamese in Thailand in looking towards their homeland. As the owner of a large auto repair garage in Bangkok, he emphasised that the Vietnamese community in Thailand always strives to assert themselves and uphold the values of the Vietnamese people.
Le Anh Dung stressed the growing role of the Communist Party of Vietnam and affirmed the steadfast trust of the overseas Vietnamese community in the Party.

Dung also stated that in this era of national rise, both domestic and overseas Vietnamese must swiftly seize opportunities, as the right time has arrived. After a period of development and thorough preparation, Vietnam now needs to accelerate its progress to avoid the middle-income trap. "As a son of Vietnam, I am delighted to see my homeland thriving as it is today," Dung said. He also reaffirmed the irreplaceable role of the Party in the country's renewal efforts, leading the nation into this new era of growth and prosperity.
As a young entrepreneur in Thailand, Le Anh Dung expressed his belief that Vietnam's economy is growing strongly, and that its diplomatic policy of fostering friendly and open relations with other nations has significantly elevated the country’s position in the region and the world. The achievements and successes Vietnam has attained serve as proof of the sound policies set forth by the Communist Party of Vietnam. "Through this, we can see the increasingly important role of the Party, which continues to earn the trust of the Vietnamese community in Thailand," Le Anh Dung shared.
