According to the economic corridors mentioned in the Party Central Committee’s Resolution No.30-NQ/TW on socio-economic development and national defence in the Red River Delta until 2030, with a vision to 2045, Quang Ninh is one of the few localities present in three quarters of this route.
At the same time, the province is connected with the remaining economic corridor via the north-south route (Lang Son - Hanoi - Ho Chi Minh City - Ca Mau) through the highway axis running along the province, and connecting with Hanoi - Hai Phong Expressway.
Quang Ninh Province has many plans to further advance extensive linkage for development.
According to Quang Ninh Party Secretary Nguyen Xuan Ky, the province has outlined extensive linkage for development as one of the orientations and has many plans for its further advancement.
As such, Quang Ninh has been giving priority to perfecting its strategic transport infrastructure to promote regional and intra-regional cooperation.

Realising this goal, the Resolution of the 15th Quang Ninh Provincial Party Congress, 2020-2025 tenure, determined that Quang Ninh persistently implements the organisation of development space “1 centre, 2 multi-dimensional routes and 2 breakthroughs”, to ensure the goal of connection and synchronisation, to promote the strengths of each locality in the province, as well as the strengths of the province in the Red River Delta and the Northern Key Economic Region.
Implementing the Resolution, Quang Ninh has focused on speeding up investment progress in projects that link regions, economic zones, industrial parks, and seaport infrastructure, to create centres to connect infrastructure, service, and international traffic.
To remove the “bottleneck” of transport infrastructure, in the context of limited budget resources, Quang Ninh has sought its path with bold, unique ideas, using public investment to lead and activate all social resources towards development goals.
With the mindset of “there is an avenue, there is great wealth”, in 2012, the province boldly experimented with institutions by proposing that the Government build its own highways, international airports, and international cruise ports with convincing arguments, proving financial resources, and approval by the Government. Such a project being invested in by the Government is unprecedented in Vietnam's Transportation industry.
The year 2014 kicked off a series of key, dynamic transportation projects when the Ha Long-Hai Phong Expressway, the province's first road expressway, began construction.
After less than 10 years, Van Don International Airport and Ha Long International Cruise Port, respectively representing the gate to the sky and the gate to the ocean connecting directly to the world, have also received synchronous investment. Accompanied by modern and classy landscape values, and overall connectivity along the highway axis.

Quang Ninh has also completed a 176km highway along the province, becoming the first road gateway directly connecting Vietnam and ASEAN, with the Chinese market of more than 1.4 billion people. The expressway axis is considered the lifeblood of development, as it connects to almost all economic, tourist, industrial and urban centres of Quang Ninh Province, helping shorten distance and travelling time and expanding development space.

Synchronous investment in transport infrastructure and promotion of regional connectivity is always among Quang Ninh's top priority tasks. This is an important driving force for the building and development of economic connection.

Therefore, the province has played a vanguard role in tapping the full advantage of its strategic location, shortening travel time between areas and narrowing the regional gap.
The provincial authorities are looking to create further breakthroughs with many new transportation projects while synchronously connecting with localities inside and outside the province. This will form a connected value chain, meet transportation needs, and create favourable conditions for the provincial economy to develop stably and sustainably.

With synchronous infrastructure in all three modes of air, sea, and land, the travel and connections between Quang Ninh and other regional and international localities have never been so smooth and favourable as they are today.
